Itinerary

Day 1: Origin – Figueres (luggage transfer)

Arrival at the meeting point. Check in at the hotel, dinner and accommodation. Possibility to come by other means. Optional transfer.

Day 2: Stage 1 - Portbou - Llançà (luggage transfer)

Technical hike information: 10,70 KM – Slopes +462/-490 – 4h45’

The first stage takes us from the village of Portbou to Llançà. We will cross the Albera Range, which offers outstanding views of the Costa Brava. We will visit Colera for, then, step on Garbet beach, which approaches us to Cap Ras. Finally, we will reach Llançà. During our hike, we will have enjoyed some lovely coves. Arrived in Llançà, we will begin our gastronomic route, which is also part of the trip. Today we will have the opportunity to eat suquet de peix. Afterwards, we will begin our adventure sports with a kayak tour from Llançà to the tiny cove of Cap Ras, which offers views of el Cap de Creus. There, we will also make a tasting of 3 wines with the certificate of origin Empordà (D.O Empordà). Finally, dinner and accommodation at our hotel in Llançà.

Day 3: Stage 2 – Llança – Port de la Selva

Technical hike information: 8,50 KM – Slopes +223/-230 – 4h15’

Today, on our second stage, we will leave towards Port de la Selva. We will walk by cozy coves and beache, like La Farella, Les Tonyines, Cau del Llop and Port de la Vall. A 100% route skirting the coast. When having reached Port de la Selva, the bus will take us up to Sant Pere de Rodes, where we will have lunch and continue savouring local dishes from l’Empordà. After lunch, we will have the opportunity to enjoy a guided tour to one of the gems of the Catalan Romanesque: the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, strategically located in an enclave of dizzying views. Continuing with our tasting of Empordà products and before returning to the hotel, we will visit a small distillery of artisan liquors, all made with Empordà herbs. Back in Llançà, dinner and accommodation.

Day 4: Stage 3 – Port de la Selva – Cadaqués (luggage transfer)

Technical hike information: 12,0 KM – Slopes +480/-475 – 5h30’

Joining two villages as iconic as El Port of La Selva and Cadaqués, by a hike through the heart of the mountains of El Cap de Creus Natural Park, it is an experience worth to remember. Passing by El Pic dels Bufadors, we can already enjoy a frontal overlook of Cadaqués, recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in the world. As soon as we arrive, we will have the opportunity to savour our lunch, always with local products. In the afternoon, we will continue to get delighted by wonderful landscapes with endless views while having a tour with a train that will take us to Port Lligat, a charming place where Salvador Dalí spent long periods of his life. Day 5: Stage 4 - El cap de Creus

Technical hike information: 9,20 KM – Slopes +445/-443 – 4h45’

In this stage we visit one of the most magical places: Cap de Creus. We will make a circular walk, leaving from its lighthouse - from where you can see amazing sunrises - we will arrive at Naganta beach and, again, we will follow the wild coastline that this landscape offers us. We will walk via El Paratge de Tudela, a place with lots of history and anecdotes that will lead us to the last cove, where a very special surprise awaits us. Next, we will continue our gastronomic tour by having lunch in Cap de Creus lighthouse itself. Back in Cadaqués, we will enter the world of the great Empordà painter Salvador Dali while visiting his summer residence. Finally, dinner and lodging in Cadaqués.

Day 6: Stage 5 - Cadaqués - Cala Montjoi – Roses (luggage transfer)

Technical hike information: 11,0 KM – Slopes +505/-517 – 5h00’

The interest of this stage is always kept to a motto: enjoy a great variety of details from the landscapes at all times, both in the inner trams - with their incomparable distant views of the sea - and the coastal section - that is a continuous discovery of coves, cliffs and other places reserved for those who undertake this "kind adventure". The arrival area will be Cala Monjoi, known worldwide by the Bulli Restaurant, considered for many years the best in the world. Lunch. In the afternoon we will enjoy a lovely electric-bike tour that will take us to Roses. In the evening, dinner and lodging at the hotel.

Day 7: Stage 6 - Roses – Pic de l’Àliga

Technical hike information: 10,20 KM – Slopes +530/-530 – 5h15’

Today’s circular hike will take us to the highest spot of all stages: El Pic de l'Àliga, where we will be amazed by its spectacular 360-degree views. From there we will spot the Pyrenees, l’Alta Garrotxa, Cap de Creus Natural Park, l’Albera and much of Costa Brava. Probably, along with the previous stage, it is the most demanding, though the most rewarding visually. At lunch, we will continue to enjoy our personal gastronomic route. In the afternoon, we will take pleasure in a Chill Out Beach night and enjoy a beautiful sunset while having a good sardine along with a nice DO Empordà cava. Accommodation in the hotel.

Day 8: Stage 7 – L’Escala – Bunkers L6 (luggage transfer)

Technical hike information: 11,0 KM – Slopes +450/-450 – 5h00’

Starting the route from Cala Illa Mateua, we border the coast, passing by Punta Grossa, Cala Montgó and enjoying part of El Montgrí Natural Park. Above all, today’s route offers us an incredible historical burden, entering inside the set of Bunkers built by the Francoist government in the times of World War II. Also, remains of pirates, feudal lords, Romans, smugglers and hiding places with more than 2.000 years of history will surround us. We will have lunch at the same Illa Mateua cove because, in the afternoon, from here we will have our last afternoon of adventure. All of those who want to have a first dive can have a “first baptism” supported and controlled by an expert instructor (those who do not want to dive, can snorkel). Eventually, farewell-night with dinner and cremat. Lodging in l'Escala.

Day 9:  Stage 8 – Begur – Llafranc (luggage transfer)

Technical hike information: 12,20 KM – Slopes +568/-766 – 5h45’

The last stage departs from one of the best-known villages in El Baix Empordà (Begur) and goes towards Aiguablava, an authentic natural pool that faces Illa Blanca. From here on, the stream of coves begins: Els Orats, Aigua-Xalida, Tamariu, Ganarus, En Roig, les Muscleres, Cala Pedrosa and the lighthouse of Sant Sebastià. At the end of the path, we will reach Llafranc. Now, we just have left a farewell lunch and take you all to the meeting place, so everyone can return home. End of the experience.
